1.     My mother told me to open the door,
But I didn't want to;
I opened the door and he fell on the floor,
With his old boots and leggins.
2.     My mother told me to set him a stool,
But I didn't want to;
I set him a stool and he stood like a fool,
With his old boots and leggins.
3.     My mother told me to put him to bed,
But I didn't want to; I put him to bed and he stood on his head, With his old boots and leggins.
4.     My mother told me to fire a gun,
But I didn't want to; I fired the gun and how he did run, With his old boots and leggins!
